Below is a session from eHIV-STI, which like all eHIV-STI sessions, has been written by subject specialists. It demonstrates how the elearning works, how multimedia features like animation are used to support the learning and how learners can assess their knowledge.
This session explains how HIV should be diagnosed, what samples should be taken, and how they should be stored and transported. It explains what diagnostic tests are available, how to interpret them, their sensitivity and specificity, and their potential advantages or disadvantages. The timescale between HIV exposure and tests becoming positive is discussed.
